it wouldn't surprise me-- they sounded pretty damn good in that desktop.

Funniest speaker blow vid ever!
form109 (17 years ago)
damn those midranges were putting up a hell of a fight.
Fosg8 (17 years ago)
wish i had that many speakers layin around
polaris911 (17 years ago)
I think the 15 watt rating on the tweeters is for a frequency range of 3K~20kHz that the crossovers would normally ensure. The 8 watt midranges have a broader frequency range which would explain why a speaker that's larger than the tweeter actually has a lower maximum wattage.

the bookshelf speakers looked fucked when they were being blown!
osxdude (13 years ago)
That comparison with the real woofers was actually very useful. Wow
jesseadkins187 (16 years ago)

form109 (17 years ago)
the cones on the midranges were so thin!
polaris911 (15 years ago)
@TheHackWhite The song on the tweeters that plays very briefly is called "Don't stop". It's from the PC game Live for Speed. I can send it to you if you like, it'll be difficult to find.

No way man. The philips sound better than the Sony speakers, believe it or not! They just can't handle the power (rated at 60 watts each). That and their small size is the only reason I still have them.
polaris911 (16 years ago)
The song is "Top Back". I think this is the remix, featuring Jeezy
mumppa (17 years ago)
OMG those sansui speakers was awesome cone dimples
brandondodge4248 (10 years ago)

EduardRitok (15 years ago)
1:20 - tough speakers :D
WagonDude55 (14 years ago)
Although it is your stuff, I would not use that Vintage Amp. I would use a newer one. Although it is fun to blow speakers with it now, you could be doing some damage to it with those speakers rated at such low ohms.
