Hey everybody, I hope 2026 has been great for you all so far. I thought I'd take a moment to write this post with some reflections on the recent reception of Episode 10. But first I'd like to forward some stuff I mentioned in last week's livechat: Chronicle 2 will be my next video, and after that, Episode 11. Currently I have no script for Episode 11 as my dear friend George, 84F Studios, is in the midst of writing it. Now just a foreword on the rest of this post, it'll be mostly me venting some thoughts I've had recently and you might already be tired of reading this first one, otherwise mucho texto ahead(!).
So over a week has passed since I premiered Episode 10 and it was a couple days ago I started noticing the numbers dwindling. I've said in the past that I've stopped caring about view counts and likes but it's been a pattern I've been noticing since the release of Episode 9 in July of 2024. As of writing Episode 10 stands at under 1k likes and 19k views, which has been less than Episode 9's performance a week after its premiere, Episode 9 as of writing this has yet to break 100k views, compared to Episode 8 which sits at 231k views right now (although to be fair it's been 4-5 years since I premiered that episode, though I distinctly remember it breaking 100k in just a year after). And I'll be brutally honest, seeing this trend continuing has placed a lot of thought in my mind lately, and it wasn't until recently when I figured out why that might be the case - either the episodes runtime being too long for a rewatch, the contents of the episode is not worth rewatching at all, or perhaps something out of my control such as time - each episode being released years apart eachother. The thought amplified when noticed how little it was being discussed in my server or anywhere on social media. Content creators might share the same feeling, recognition is practically the number 1 source of dopamine, and it motivates you to do more. Now I'd say I'm self-aware enough to see how pitiful this sounds, any recognition is better than no recognition of course, which is why I haven't talked much about video reception up until now, when I've been noticing how little impact the recent video left. Sooooo what does all this yapping mean? Am I gonna quit because the numbers are doing poorly? No, absolutely not, that would be ludicrous lol. I thought it might help if I write out my thoughts in a post where all of you can read and maybe understand what my current trance of thoughts are, because who knows it might affect the pace of my workflow.
So tl;dr, the underperforming episode uploads have been demotivating, but it's stupid to let numbers distract me from wanting to tell a story to you guys. Anyways, if you've come this far thanks for taking the time to read my nothingburger post, but I feel writing this all out has helped to clear my mind up a bit.
Stay tuned for what's to come, I'm hoping that you'll be seeing Chronicle 2 and Episode 11 be released this year.

Hello dear youtube subscribers and viewers. I'd like to write this post to let you all know that I'm still here, and that there's an episode 10 of Sodor's Dark Times: A frenzy payback, waiting to be premiered. Unfortunately, there's been several factors behind the scenes causing a delay in the premiere, both in terms of production and personal life getting in the way. So I'd like to deeply apologise for the wait once again. I will eventually get into details of the delays, but as of now I wanna make it clear that it's 100% a decision I made and one that i felt necessary for pushing forward the episode's release. That being said, I'm very excited to share with you all the next episode, hoping to see a release before this year ends at the very least.

Dear viewers, it is with pleasure to announce that Episode 10 of Sodor's Dark Times: A frenzy payback, has concluded its production. All that is left is to gather some final post-production assets and some minor last minute editing. This episode currently sits at a runtime of 1 hour and 28 minutes, so I want to take as much time as possible to finalize the product before setting a premire date. That being said, the next time you'll get an update on this channel it will be a premiere date for this video. Along with Victor Tanzigs Alfred, this is easily one of the kindest versions of Alfred ever, and it’s nice to see him have a change of heart and become a good guy. I love evil Alfred, but there’s nothing better than a redemption.

I got to say, the ending wasn't excepted, especially after the start. In his early days, he's still the rude engine, and I thought the story would tell how he became the devil, but no, this focused on how he became a better engine. It seems more people are giving him a second personality, which is nice, knowing he's just not a devil.

Very, Very well done! One thing I've really liked about Alfred is how different he can be between different universes, from mentally insane maniac to an engine suffering from PTSD. I think your take on Alfred is nicely put together! seeing Alfred change for the better really is amazing!

So this is like a special, which doesn't affect the actual story. I'm still hoping for a part seven of SDT AFP. That's a brilliant series, and deserves more attention. I'd rate it as Victor tanzig story of the war.
