@ryfan64 Don't worry, everyone's a newbie hunter at first! To increase your HR, just keep doing the gathering hall quests until the girl at the desk tells you there's an urgent quest available. Once you complete the urgent quest, your HR will increase and you'll have access to the next set of quests. Good luck!

there is a skill called reckless abandon that can go up to +3. with each level it adds 10% affinity to a maximum of +30% however the most affinity i have ever seen is 70% with a maxed out nargacuga weapon and reckless abandon +3 so yes you can increase the affinity with the skill called reckless abandon but aside from that there is no other way to increase it unless the weapon already has some to start with.

Whooopss ... Almost forgot +affinity on akantor's attack power computation is also included already on 1960... =P

Oh yeah... One more thing, don't get me wrong though akantor is a strong LS (1960 multiplied by green sharpness) unfortunately it becomes dull pretty quick after a few hits (especially when it bounces) since you have sharpening skill inc. It's a good enough weapon just keep it sharp & hope you hit parts that would not make your sword bounce off.... =) nice vid!

Did the whole game with the hunting horn, i'll tell you what, the tigrex on this quest is an absolute bitch to kill if you're using the horn :P The Akantor horn is amazing with the right skills :)

critical chance. so if your weapon had 50% affinity then you would have a 50% chance per hit to do 1.25X your normal damage, at the same time if you have negative 50% affinity you would have a 50% chance of only doing 0.75% damage

Sharpness means more power and less possibility of your sword bouncing off when you hit a monster with hard a hard skin... Purple sharpness is attack x 1.5. White: attack x 1.3. Blue: attack x 1.25 and green attack x 1.125. U also have to include affinity (+) & (-) in the computation. =)
