She's not feisty, she simply thinks its food. You could have picked her up and she wouldn't mind. Love this species, they are huge yet so gentle.

The spider is reacting to contact with the floor(or web, as mentioned in the description), thinking it's prey. They have very poor vision, so they react if they sense movement. Only spiders with great vision are jumping spiders, I believe.

That spider is HUGE, I have never seen a bigger house spider ever. Please don't kill it, it will help keep your house clean. I know their creepy but flies are worse. Spider silk is a wonder of nature, it's as strong as steel but light as a feather.
