Thank you everyone for the support on my latest video! I wanted to give you all some context on the inspiration for the story and a few bts bits as well. As some of you might have seen on my Twitter or on my friend WilburPYoutube’s channel, I visited the UK last summer and got to both the Ffestiniog and Talyllyn Railways. These were my top choices of railways to visit while in the UK, given my love of the narrow gauge engines.
While we were at the Ffestiniog, we rode behind James Spooner, a recently built double fairlie locomotive. I was impressed at the length of our train as you can see in the second photo. The engine pulled so many double bogie coaches! The Ffestiniog is also home to the George England locomotives, which are the engines who Duke is based on. I sadly was not able to see one up close, but only from the view of our train as we passed the Boston Lodge Works. You all know how much of a Duke fan I am considering all the season 4 remakes I have done! I got inspired by my time at both the Ffestiniog and Talyllyn. They both are such lovely places which I hope you all will get the chance to visit if you haven’t before. A BTS fun fact is that most of the engine sounds used in this video come from clips I recorded at both of these railways. So at least in the case of Mighty Mac, those are the real sounds of a double fairlie! Thanks for reading, and I hope to have a video out in the next few months on my UK trip!

Today I celebrate 11 years of being on YouTube! A little over a week ago I recreated the first wooden railway layout I filmed for YouTube which I used for my original series. It was pretty fun to recreate and reminisce on so many memories made. Here’s to many more!
