When a good narration beats the best graphics...

My favorite role of his, may his legacy stand the test of time.

Civilization IV lit a fire of passion in my heart for history and science. Nimoy's opening narration was superb, one of the best I've ever seen in a game even to this day.

Another of the great vocal talents has been lost this day.

He was the most...human.

"And now, there required but one more ingredient. A great leader, to unite the quarreling tribes, to harness the power of the land, to build a legacy that would stand the test of time; a civilization."

This was my favorite work of Nimoy's.

This particular intro is extra cool as Baba Yetu (the menu theme) is the Lord's Prayer in Swahili, and "In the beginning, the Earth was without form and void" is the beginning of Genesis in the Bible. So the two are feeding into one another (since you go from hearing the music to seeing this in that order) but taking a more scientific view of history while still basking in the majesty of the universe. Such a great game, man.

I absolutely love how they took the text and music from the Civ I intro, threw it on here, and had Leonard Nimoy read it. Epic!
